POLICE LOG for December 16: Wilmington Driver Issued Summons; Garbage Truck Takes Down Wires

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log from Monday, December 16, 2019:
  • Scott W. MacLeod (48, Wilmington) was issued a summons for Operating A Motor Vehicle With A Suspended License (Subsequent Offense) and Marked Lanes Violation. MacLeod was pulled over on Glen Road. (1:30am)
  • A caller reported a trash truck with its dumpster arms up traveling north on Main Street taking down lines along the way. Police stopped truck. Verizon was notified. Driver’s company was contacted. Driver took photos of damage and was sent on his way. (9:13am)
  • A military ID was reported lost at Market Basket. (10:00am)
  • A 2-vehicle minor crash took place at Main Street. No injuries reported. One of the vehicles, however, fled the scene. The other vehicle was towed. (2:45pm)
  • A caller reported he received several suicidal text messages from a friend. Winthrop Police Department was notified and asked to conduct a well-being check. (6:56pm)
