WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Police Department issued a community alert on Wednesday, notifying residents that officers are actively investigating a recent rash of house breaks in the Lowell Street area near the Lucci’s Supermarket.
According to Boston 25 News, there has been at least two reported break-ins over the past four days in town. These break-ins occurred during the day — one on Strout Avenue and one on Lowell Street/Route 129. Valuables were reported taken from both homes.
“Obviously we’re asking for the public’s help,” Wilmington Police Chief Joe Desmond told the news outlet. “If they can think about anything that they might have saw in the neighborhood that could help us out, we appreciate it because we do think this is probably someone who is local.”
Police asked residents to report any suspicious activity or crime tips to its Dispatch Center via 911 (Emergency) or 978-658-5071 (Business Line) immediately.
