Wilmington High To Hold Student vs. Teacher Charity Badminton Tournament On December 20

WILMINGTON, MA — Wilmington High School students and teachers will battle in a badminton tournament this Friday, December 20, 2019.

This annual student-run tournament raises funds for charity. This year’s charity will be selected by the winning teachers.

Students, meanwhile, will compete for prizes. Seniors and juniors can win a pair of prom tickets, while freshmen and sophomores can win a pair of spring fling tickets or a donation to the charity of their choice.

Organizer Joshua Rainone, a WHS senior, encourages his fellow students to sign up.

“Show your Wilmington pride! You’ll have an opportunity to win great prizes and create great changes,” says Rainone.

Students can sign up during lunch through Wednesday, December 18, 2019. Signs up cost $7 for students vs. students matches or $10 for students vs. students AND students vs. teachers matches.

The tournament will take place during Friday’s interdisciplinary block. Follow the tournament’s Twitter account (@BadmintonWHS) for photos and the announcement of the winners.
