POLICE LOG for December 9: Large Pothole Damages 5 Vehicles; Mail Ripped Up; Fired Employee Makes Threats

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log from Monday, December 9, 2019:
  • An employer reported the company terminated another employee who began making threats and throwing things. Police responded. Terminated employee agreed to wait in parking lot for a ride. (10:13am)
  • A Shawsheen Avenue caller reported when she arrived home from work sometime last week, the mail in her mailbox was ripped up. She wanted the incident logged. (10:53am)
  • Animal Control Officer brought an injured seagull to Tufts Veterinary Hospital. (11:28am)
  • A 3-vehicle crash occurred in front of Heavenly Donuts. A box truck rear-ended one vehicle, which caused it rear-end another vehicle. No injuries noted, but multiple children were in 2 of the vehicles. 2 vehicles towed. (12:53pm)
  • Police and fire responded to odor of gas at Avalon Oaks. A resident had left a burner on. (4:50pm)
  • Five cars were damaged due to a large pothole on Salem Street in North Reading, right near the Wilmington line. At least one vehicle lost a tire. North Reading Police responded. (5:08pm)
