#1) Wilmington’s Festival of Trees
We’re One Wilmington’s 9th Annual Festival of Trees is this weekend! We hope you can join us on Saturday, December 7th from 9am-9pm and Sunday, December 8th from 9am to 3pm at Villanova Hall, 126 Middlesex Avenue in Wilmington. Admission is free for this family-friendly event and raffle tickets will be available for $10 per sheet of 25. Try your chance at winning one of the over 100 trees, baskets and wreaths!
Donations get more creative every year… some highlights you can expect to see include Craft Beer, Bruins and Celtics tickets, corn hole boards, TJ Maxx gift card tree VSCO Girl and more!

#2) Wilmington Tree Lighting Ceremony
The Town of Wilmington’s Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place on Saturday, December 7, 2019, beginning at 5:30pm.
This annual popular event, sponsored by the Wilmington Fourth of July Committee, will feature the following:
- Kiddie rides from Cushing Amusements, which begin at 4pm and end at 7pm
- Horse-drawn hayrides, which begin at 4:30pm and end at 6:15pm
- An ice sculpture sponsored by the Wilmington/Tewksbury Chamber of Commerce (Chamber member donors: Align Credit Union, Best Known Pest Control, Budget Blinds, CareOne of Wilmington, Lowell Five Bank, Oakdale Liquors, Pearle Vision, RE/MAX Encore – Jacqueline Santini, Reading Cooperative Bank, RTN Federal Credit Union, Sun & Moon Unique Wedding & Events, Tewksbury Federal Credit Union, The Self Defense Institute, & Wilmington Sons of Italy)
- Wilmington Minutemen with lanterns
- A cappela group performance from WHS Soundscape
- Free cookies and hot chocolate
- Wilmington Fire Department’s Toys for Wilmington Children Drive (Bring your new unwrapped toys to the Fourth of July Building)
- Wilmington Community Fund’s annual Holiday Ornament sale
- After the ceremony, Santa Claus will be available for photos in the Fourth of July Building. (Photos will be downloadable from the Fun on the Fourth Committee’s website, but parents are also encouraged to bring their own cameras.)

#3) Free Breakfast with Mrs. Claus
Mrs. Claus has invited children to join her for breakfast on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 9am at the Wilmington United Methodist Church (89 Church Street).
The event is sponsored by the United Methodist Men and is open to all the children in Wilmington.
The menu will feature pancakes, eggs, sausages and all the trimmings and Mrs. Claus herself will read a Christmas story to all the children. There is no charge for the meal but donations will gladly be accepted.

#4) Holiday Open House At Book Store Next Door
The Friends of the Wilmington Memorial Library’s Book Store Next Door (183 Middlesex Avenue) is hosting its Third Annual Holiday Open House on Saturday, December 7, 2019, from 4pm to 6:30pm.
Enjoy warm cider and cookies while you shop for holiday book gifts and stocking stuffers!
Don’t forget about all the other holiday activity taking place on and around the Town Common on December 7 — We’re One Wilmington’s Festival of Trees will be taking place from 9am to 9pm, while the Town’s Tree Lighting Ceremony will officially begin at 5:30pm, with related activities starting at 4pm.

#5) Holiday Open House At Wilmington Train Club
The Boston Metro Hi-Railers Model Train Club will host its Holiday Open House on Saturday, December 7, 2019, from 10am to 4pm, at its clubhouse at 5 Waltham Street in Wilmington.
Like previous events, this open house will feature attractions for families, train enthusiasts and hobbyists alike. The three children’s layouts are especially interesting as boys and girls of all sizes can have hands-on experience running trains, operating trackside accessories or just watching others.
The price of admission remains the same at $5 per individual and $10 per family. Refreshments will be available. A snow day on Sunday, December 8 will be the backup date. For information, visit http://bmhrc.com.
#6) Christmas Craft Fair At Deming Way
Residents of Deming Way will hold their annual Christmas Craft Fair on Saturday, December 7, 2019, from 9am to 2pm, at Deming Way (41 Deming Way).
The fair offers handcrafted gifts for sale with a “white elephant” table. Baked goods (cookies, cakes and pies) will also be available for purchase. In addition, select prized items are raffled off each year, from unique handcrafted items to gift certificates donated by stores and eateries. The raffle selection begins at the end of the fair.
The Christmas Craft Fair is the Deming Way Tenants Association’s biggest fundraising event of the year. Proceeds fund rental buses for trips, bingo, group dinners and other entertainment at their community center throughout the year. The Deming Way Tenants Association and Community Center are completely separate from the Wilmington Senior Center; however, as residents of Wilmington, the senior citizens are still able to attend the Senior Center and take advantage of the activities there.

#7) Huge Antique Show At Shriners Auditorium
The largest indoor antiques show in New England is coming to the Shriners Auditorium (99 Fordham Road) in Wilmington on Saturday, December 7, 2019, 10am to 5pm, and Sunday, December 8, 2019, 11am to 4pm.
The show, which features more than 100 dealers with an eclectic mix of antiques, vintage and decorative arts plus a great selection of rare and vintage books and ephemera, has been named one of the best antique fairs by Yankee Magazine. The complete list of participating dealers can be found HERE.

#8) College Camp For High School Students & Their Parents At Wilmington Library
The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) is hosting “The College Camp” on Saturday, December 7 at noon for students in Grades 9-12 and their parents.

#9) Fiction Critique Group At Wilmington Library
The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) is holding a meeting of its Fiction Critique Group at 9:15am. Love writing fiction? Whether you are drafting a short story or a novel, joining our Critique Group is a great opportunity to meet other writers and get constructive feedback in a supportive environment. When registering, please provide your email address so you can receive an agenda and any prep materials before the meeting. Open to all experience levels writing in all genres. #10) Town Yard Waste Center Open
The Wilmington Yardwaste Center on Old Main Street will be open from 9am to 3pm for the drop-off of leaves and brush. Residents will need to purchase a punch-card for $15 in order to enter the yardwaste center. Punch-cards will be available for purchase through the Collector’s Office at Town Hall and will allow up to 5 vehicle trips to the yardwaste center per card. NO GRASS CLIPPINGS OR STUMPS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Commercial vehicles will not be allowed. Make sure to bring photo identification to show you are a Wilmington resident.
