I hope many of you were able to tune in on Thanksgiving for coverage of the annual football rivalry game between Wilmington and Tewksbury. We were able to air the game thanks to our friends at Tewksbury Telemedia, who covered the game for their own viewers and shared the feed for those of us in Wilmington.
Community media centers don’t share a lot of content simply because much of what we cover is so town specific (the folks in Andover probably don’t care very much about our Board of Selectmen coverage). But we always look for videos that may be produced in other towns that you in Wilmington are interested in watching. This happens a lot with high school sports and over the past year, we’ve shared a number of programs across the border with Tewksbury, including a library event on Silver Lake and programs featuring state rep Dave Robertson.
Tewksbury only launched their own television station in 2018 and we look forward to future collaborations!

WCTV’s Community Connections Donation Drive goes for the next several weeks.
This Saturday, WCTV will be at the We’re One Wilmington Festival of Trees with our portable green screen from 9A-3P. For any donation amount, you can get your picture taken in front of the green screen. We’ll add a holiday background of your choice… and post it as part of a community photo album. This is a great way to document your visit to the Festival of Trees or as a fun photo to share on social media.
The following Saturday, we’ll e recording holiday greetings at WCTV. For a $50 donation, you can come in and have your family record a message, up to a minute long, with a holiday background. We’ll send you the file the following Monday and then you can share it with family and friends – either via social media or email.
If you want to do the video, you need to make an appointment in advance. You can reach me at shaun@wctv.org to learn more information.
WCTV is running a donation drive this December to help offset losses we’re seeing in funding tied to traditional cable, which is our primary revenue stream.
This is your chance to show your support for WCTV and the work being done in the community. The goal here is to maintain services even if revenue declines. You can look for more details at wctv.org.
