POLICE LOG for November 28: Sick Groundhog, Rabid Woodchuck & Possible Explosion

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log from Thursday, November 28, 2019:
  • An Oakdale Road caller reported a sick groundhog doing circles in the street. Police were unable to locate. (3:19pm)
  • Police received report of a rabid woodchuck in the street on Birchwood Road. Police with the reporting party and could not locate the animal. (5:35pm)
  • A caller reported hearing a male screaming, children yelling, and then what sounded like an explosion near Salem Street. Police checked area, spoke with reporting party, and was unable to locate source of sounds. (5:50pm)
  • Police came across a vehicle pulled over on the side of the road at Shawsheen Avenue and Richmond Street. Driver was suffering from severe anxiety, but checked OK. Driver calmed down enough to drive home. (9:17pm)
