POLICE LOG for November 26: Concerns Over Door-To-Door Solicitors; Fuel Leak

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log from Tuesday, November 26, 2019:
  • A caller reported a small white sedan in the Salem Street area. Female operator was running up to houses and running back to vehicle. Caller was unsure if female was taking packages or delivering them. Police was unable to locate vehicle. (10:04am)
  • A caller reported two males were soliciting in the area. They stated they were with Vivant Solar and were soliciting canned goods for food pantry. Police spoke to solicitors on Biggar Avenue and confirmed story. (1:08pm) After a second call, parties were later advised on how to obtain a proper soliciting permit. (1:52pm)
  • Animal Control Officer brought an injured possum to Newhouse Wildlife Rescue of Chelmsford. (2:05pm)
  • Police received complaint of a fuel leak on the roadway from Route 62 from the Center down towards Chestnut Street. Police notified State DPW, which asked the town’s DPW to handle. Town DPW sanded the area. (3:41pm)
