WILMINGTON, MA — Below is a basic overview of what’s open and closed in Wilmington on Thanksgiving:

  • Town, State & Federal Offices: CLOSED
  • Wilmington Memorial Library: CLOSED
  • Wilmington Senior Center: CLOSED
  • Wilmington Trash Collection: NONE (Thursday’s collection will take place on Friday, Friday’s collection will take place on Saturday)
  • Post Office: CLOSED
  • Banks: CLOSED
  • Grocery Stores: OPEN or CLOSED at owner’s discretion
    • Market Basket: CLOSED
    • Lucci’s: CLOSED
    • Elia’s: 7am-1pm (NO alcohol/liquor sales)
  • Liquor Stores: CLOSED
  • Convenience Stores: OPEN or CLOSED at owner’s discretion
  • Retail Stores: OPEN or CLOSED at owner’s discretion
  • Restaurants & Bars: OPEN or CLOSED at owner’s discretion

Football Game Notes

Wilmington High will battle Tewksbury High in the 86th Annual Thanksgiving Day Football Game at 10am at Doucette Field in Tewksbury. Tickets cost $10 (all ages) at the gate. Cash only.

Halftime Reunion Photo Op

As reported by Town Crier sports editor Jamie Pote, Tewksbury High School is asking all Tewksbury and Wilmington football alumni to pose for a photo during halftime to commemorate the last game played at Doucette Field. TMHS alumni are asked to wear red while WHS alumni are asked to wear blue.
