WILMINGTON, MA — Pasquale J. Carideo, “Pat”, age 75, a long-time resident of Wilmington, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, November 17th 2019.
Pat was born on August 24, 1944 in Everett, MA and was the cherished son of the late Pasquale J. and Pasqualina Carideo. Pat was raised in Everett and graduated from Everett High School, where he met his wife, Ann (Stabile) Carideo. Pat and Ann were married on October 5th, 1968 and lived in Everett for a few short years, before moving to Wilmington in January of 1976, where they raised their three children, Michelle, Scott and David.
Pat had a distinguished sales career across two industries, often working six to seven days a week, to provide for his family, something which gave him an innate sense of pride. Pat spent several years working in downtown Boston at the prestigious Martini Carl clothing company, outfitting many local and national celebrities. Pat had a passion for making his clients look their best, as well as his own meticulous appearance and polished sense of style. Pat later worked at Hains Jewelry in East Boston, where he managed the sales staff for several locations before retiring.
Outside of work, Pat had many talents and hobbies. His wife Ann taught Pat how to ballroom dance, and soon after, they became the “dancing couple”, known for being the first couple on the dance floor at any function. They also loved to find new places to go dancing on the weekends where they created many more wonderful memories and friendships.
In his youth, Pat was an accomplished trumpet player and competed in the Drum and Bugle core, something he would continue to enjoy as a spectator in later years. Pat was also a singer/actor and performed in dinner theater shows. At home, Pat valued his beautifully landscaped yard, and would spend countless hours on his pool yard, lawn and garden working to make them ‘showcase’ worthy. After a long week, Pat enjoyed cooking and later relaxing with family in his recliner and watching his favorite tv shows.
Socially, Pat was a member of the Wilmington and Everett Chapters of the Lions Club, Knights of Columbus and the Sons of Italy where he volunteered in a myriad of events while creating life-long friendships along the way.
Pat was blessed with three grandchildren and delighted to become a “Papa” to Dominic, Marina and Valentina. He looked forward to their visits, where he could babysit and spend quality time with them, telling jokes and reading their favorite stories.
Pat was the beloved husband of Ann F. (Stabile) Carideo, devoted father of Michelle Carideo Feeney & her husband Derek, Scott Carideo all of Wilmington and David Carideo of Pasadena, CA; loving “Papa” of Dominic Feeney, Marina Feeney and Valentina Carideo, cherished son of the late Pasquale J. and Pasqualina Carideo, dear brother of Connie Rongone of Florida, Mary Nuzzo of Everett and John Carideo of Florida. Pat is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
