STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: Wilmington’s Kimberly Lifton Presents Research at NY6 Conference

CLINTON, NY — Kimberly Lifton, of Wilmington, was one of 22 Hamilton College students who presented their research at the New York Six Liberal Arts Consortium Upstate New York Undergraduate Research Conference at Union College in Schenectady, N.Y. Lifton is a senior majoring in history and literature.

The presentations were based on research in the sciences and through Emerson Foundation grants conducted during the summer with Hamilton faculty.

Lifton presented “Reputation and Representation of the Black Prince: Edward of Woodstock’s Fama and National Identity in the 14th Century.”

The New York Six Liberal Arts Consortium is a cooperative venture of six Upstate New York liberal arts institutions: Colgate University, Hamilton College, Hobart and William Smith Colleges, St. Lawrence University, Skidmore College, and Union College. The Consortium facilitates collaboration among its member institutions in fulfilling their educational missions and serving the public good.

Originally founded in 1793 as the Hamilton-Oneida Academy, Hamilton College offers an open curriculum that gives students the freedom to shape their own liberal arts education within a research- and writing-intensive framework.
