WILMINGTON, MA — At last week’s meeting, the Wilmington Board of Selectmen Meeting unanimously approved a new collective bargaining agreement for the town’s Dispatcher’s Union.
The 3-year contract between the town and the New England Police Benevolent Association, Local 101, will run from July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2022.
Town Manager Jeff Hull provided a summary of the new contract’s highlights:
- Members will receive annual cost-of-living-adjustments of 2.5%, 2.75% and 2.75%.
- Longevity language was restored, but at lower rates. Members will receive $500 for every 5 years of service.
- Members will receive an increase in night shirt differential by 25 cents per hour as of 7/1/19, and again on 7/1/20.
- Members will receive an increase in their EMT stipend from $350 to $500.
- Members can now only carry forward no more than 5 vacation days per year. All days not used will be forfeited.
- Members can no longer accrue personal time. Members receive 3 personal days a year and lose whatever they don’t use.
- Members must now wear a prescribed uniform, which will be developed through a policy to be worked on by management and the union.
