WILMINGTON, MA — The Town of Wilmington held a successful Veterans Day Ceremony last Monday, November 11, 2019 on the Town Common.
The event, organized and emceed by Veterans Director Lou Cimaglia, included remarks from State Rep. Ken Gordon, State Rep. Dave Robertson, Selectmen Chair Greg Bendel, Town Manager Jeff Hull, and 38-year decorated veteran and Wilmington resident Command Sgt. John Helbert.
In a powerful moment, Wilmington’s Vietnam War veterans placed a wreath at the Town Common’s Veterans Monument.
Retiring longtime Wilmington High School Band Director Barbara Mette was recognized for the role she and her band has played in the town’s Veterans and Memorial Day ceremonies over the past 40 years.
