WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Board of Selectmen meets this Tuesday, November 12, 2019 in Room 9 of Town Hall at 7pm. An Executive Session precedes the meeting at 6:15pm.
There are some noteworthy items on the agenda, including:
- Selectmen will be introduced to the Wilmington Police Department’s newest officers — Meghan Sousa and Joseph Fitzgerald.
- Selectmen will hear from its state delegation regarding a new platform for the North Wilmington Commuter Rail station.
- Selectmen will hear a presentation from Town Engineer Paul Alunni and Planning Director Valerie Gingrich on a proposed cost sharing process to accept more unaccepted ways in town.
- Town Manager Jeff Hull will provide an update on reserved parking spaces at the MBTA Commuter Rail parking lot on Main Street.
- Hull will provide an update on the town’s potential use of the Textron’s ballfields and tennis courts.
- Hull will provide an update on the town’s FY2021 budget development.
- IT Director John O’Neil will provide an update on the town receiving a state Cybersecurity Awareness Grant Award.
- Finance Director/Town Accountant Bryan Perry will provide an update on the town’s free cash certification.
- Selectmen will receive a letter from Monogram Foods about its intention to apply for a Massachusetts Economic Development Incentive program for its Wilmington location.
- Selectmen will consider the request of Library Director Tina Stewart to support a warrant article to name the library’s new outdoor seating area “The Peggy Kane Reading Garden.”
- Selectmen will consider the request of Fourth of July Committee Chair Scott Garrant to use the Town Common for the Annual Tree Lighting on Saturday, December 7, 2019, from 4pm to 7pm.
- Selectmen will consider the request of WOW’s Jennifer Bolanos to place signs on the Town Common promoting the Festival of Trees.
- Selectmen will consider executing the collective bargaining agreement between the Town of Wilmington and the New England Police Benevolent Association, Local 101, Dispatcher’s Union for July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2022.
The meeting will be telecast live by Wilmington Community Television on WCTV — Channel 9 on Comcast and Channel 37 on Verizon. The meeting will also be streamed on WCTV’s website HERE.
