Below is a recent press release from the Shawsheen Tech School Committee:
BILLERICA, MA — The Shawsheen Valley Technical High School Committee is currently searching for the next Superintendent of Schools, to begin serving on July 1, 2020. The School Committee welcomes participation in this most important decision by members of the school community and the community-at-large.
As part of the search process, the School Committee will appoint an advisory Screening Committee to review applications, interview semi-finalists and recommend finalists to the School Committee.
The Screening Committee will be comprised of individuals representing various groups, including faculty at every level: administration, academic and vocational, as well as community members from member towns, which may include parents, local businesses, or civic representatives, and School Committee members. (The deadline to apply for the Screening Committee was November 1, 2019.)
The Screening Committee will meet on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. with our search consultant, Dorothy Presser, from MASC to receive its charge from the School Committee, receive candidate materials and begin to formulate questions. It will also meet on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at 7pm to finalize questions and select semi-finalists.
The semi-finalist interviews will take place on Monday, December 16, 2019 through Thursday, December 19, 2019 in the evenings. The selection of the semi-finalists will occur after the last interview on December 19, 2019.
If needed, given the December holidays, it is possible the dates to select and interview semi-finalists could take place during the week of January 13, 2020.
