Wilmington School Committee To Discuss MCAS Results, WHS Accreditation Report & Improvement Plans At October 23 Meeting

WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington School Committee meets this Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at 7pm in the Large Instruction Room at Wilmington High School.

There are some newsworthy items on the agenda, including:

  • Superintendent Dr. Glenn Brand will provide updates on the 2020 Wilmington Unified Games and upcoming professional development opportunities for Wilmington staff.
  • Brand will hand out the Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents’ Academic Excellence Award to Sukethram Sivakumar.
  • Assistant Superintendent Brian Reagan will present the district’s 2019 MCAS results.
  • Assistant Superintendent Paul Ruggiero will provide a final FY19 Financial Report.
  • WHS Principal Linda Peters will present her School Improvement Plan and the recent NEASC Report about the High School.
  • The School Committee will vote on the disposal of obsolete dictionaries at the Middle School.
  • The School Committee will review and approve an assortment of revised school committee policies.
  • The School Committee will approve an out-of-state field trip for WMS 8th Grade Drama Club and WHS Lamplighters Guild members to a Broadway Workshop/Performance in February 2020.

The School Committee will also hear any subcommittee reports and public comments.

The meeting will be telecast live by Wilmington Community Television on WCTV — Channel 9 on Comcast and Channel 37 on Verizon.  The meeting will also be streamed on WCTV’s website HERE.
