Below is an announcement from the Wilmington Educational Foundation:
WILMINGTON, MA — The Joanne Benton WEF Walk has become one of the most popular and largest annual fundraising events benefitting our schools. The Walk reinforces WPS’s belief that physical activity and physical education enhance health and academic success.
Students (PreK-Grade 5) are encouraged to ask family & friends to sponsor them in this walk. Kids are invited to wear Halloween costumes, favorite sports team shirts, or orange and black attire for the walk. Parents are welcome to watch and take pictures.
Last year, thanks in large part to the Walk fundraising efforts, WEF provided over $15K to all Wilmington schools towards innovative curriculum programs, new technology, Educator Exploration and for miscellaneous needs such as musical instruments, Buddy benches and mindfulness programs. Funds also sponsor the district-wide STEM Fair and defray costs for the 2020 Art Fair next spring. For a list of grant funding for your school peruse our Grants page on our website at www.wilmingtonedfoundation.org.
Your donation not only helps your student, but all Wilmington schools now and for years to come. Please consider donating to the WEF. You can also donate online for the Walk by clicking one of the DONATE icons on our website.
Without your efforts, WEF wouldn’t be able to make these funds available to our schools.
