WILMINGTON, MA — According to a recent study by LendingTree, Wilmington is the 16th best community in Massachusetts to raise a young family.
The online lending marketplace graded all Massachusetts cities and towns with populations over 5,000 on the following criteria:
- Median Household Income of Families with Children
- Monthly Median Housing Cost
- Home Ownership Rate of Families with Children
- % of Households That Have Children
- Unemployment Rate of 25-44 Year Olds
- % of 16-19 Year Olds Not Enrolled or Graduated from High School
- Average Travel Time to Work
The nearby communities ahead of Wilmington (#16) were Pinehurst (#8), which is a village within Billerica, and Reading (#14). Andover (#24), Burlington (#32), and Wakefield (#38) also cracked the Top 50.
