#3) Coffee With A Cop At Cumberland Farms, Panera Bread & Dunkin’

The Wilmington Police Department would like to extend an invitation to area residents to join us for national Coffee with a Cop Day on Wednesday, October 2, 2019.

Locally organized by Community Liaison Detective, Ronald Alpers, the program is designed to give residents an opportunity to speak with Officers in a comfortable familiar setting.

“Whether you have a crime tip, a neighborhood concern, a question, or just want to say hi, please come down!,” he said.

“In the past, people only interacted with the police in times of crisis or if they committed a traffic violation,” stated Chief Joseph Desmond. “We are changing that in Wilmington with programs like our Citizen Academy, Police Explorers, R.A.D., and National Night Out. Wilmington is growing and Coffee with a Cop is another opportunity for our officers to stay in touch with our residents.”

Thanks to the support of local businesses, Wilmington Police is holding three Coffee with a Cop events to allow as many citizens as possible to participate:

  • 6:30-8:00 am: Cumberland Farms, 205 Main Street
  • 8:00-9:00 am: Panera Bread, 228 Main Street (Wilmington Plaza)
  • 10:00-12:00 pm: Dunkin’, 357 Middlesex Avenue (Next to the RMV)

#5) Auditions For “Night Of The Living Dead: The Radio Play” At WCTV

Want to be a part of a unique production of a horror classic. Here’s an announcement from WCTV’s Youth & Content Coordinator Ryan Malyar:

Are you ready to scream this October?

WCTV seeks actors to audition for Night of the Living Dead: The Radio Play.

If you are good at creepy voices or have a bloodcurdling scream and want to have some ghoulish fun come and audition on Wednesday, October 2nd, 6PM-9PM at Wilmington Community Television.

Worried about memorizing lines? Don’t be. No memorization required! For this radio drama, all actors will be reading from the script. And it’s such a small commitment, only one rehearsal on Wednesday, October 16th  followed by a recording in the studio on Saturday, October 19th.

There are many speaking roles available for both the living and the undead. Ages 15 and up. We are especially looking for mature voices for the roles of Ben and Barbara. Any aspiring actor would love to sink their teeth into these iconic parts.

Our radio play will be filmed for television with a mash-up of sights and sounds from the movie.

See Ya- Wouldn’t Wanna Zom-bie Ya!

  • Auditions –Wednesday, October 2, 6PM-9PM (Walk-ins Welcome)
  • Rehearsal — Wednesday, October 16, 6-9PM
  • Performance/Recording — Saturday, October 19, 1 PM
