Author Talk: Jane Healey *RR
Saturday, October 5, 2:30 pm

Jane Healey’s novel, The Saturday Evening Girls Club, is based on the true story of a group of Italian and Jewish immigrant women in Boston’s North End at the turn of the 20th century. In her talk, she will discuss how she first learned of the Club when writing an article about the Club’s highly collectible pottery for Boston Home magazine.  Learn about the history of this inspiring women’s club, and how the author created a fictional narrative about four friends and SEG club members – Caprice, Ada, Thea and Maria. Book signing and sales to follow talk. Presented in partnership with the Wilmington Sons of Italy.

Better Business Bureau 101*RR

This program will be a discussion on how people can best utilize all of the BBB’s free services to help make educated and informed consumer decisions. Tony Conigliaro and Hero Worship in Baseball*RR

“Tony C” joined the Red Sox in 1964 and seemed destined for a long and illustrious career in baseball. Then tragedy struck during a game against the Angels on August 18th, 1967. Learn about this amazing talent and his legacy in the sport of baseball. Presented by Anthony Guerriero, Massport’s Deputy Director of Community Relations and former faculty member of Salem State University’s History Department. Funded by the Wilmington Sons of Italy.
