Wilmington Police Arrest Man On Drugs, Car Break-In Charges Next To Proposed Detox Facility Location

Below is a press release from the Wilmington Police Department:

WILMINGTON, MA — On Thursday, September 26, 2019, at approximately 4:00pm, Wilmington Police Officers investigated the report of a suspicious man in the area of Jefferson Road.

Following the investigation, 31 year-old John Moses of Reading, MA, was arrested and charged with Breaking and Entry into a Motor Vehicle in the daytime.

Moses was transported to the Wilmington Public Safety Building to be booked and processed.

During that booking process, Officers searching Moses were exposed to a white powdery substance, which became airborne. Because of this exposure to the unknown substance, four Wilmington Police Officers were transported to Winchester Hospital where they were treated and subsequently released.

Wilmington Fire and the District 6 Hazmat team secured the scene and confirmed that substance tested positive for fentanyl, which they then neutralized.

Moses also faces an additional charge of Possession of a Class A Substance at Woburn District Court.
