WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington School Committee meets this Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at 7pm in the Large Instruction Room at Wilmington High School.
There are some newsworthy items on the agenda, including:
- The School Committee will receive a report on the district’s latest enrollment numbers.
- Superintendent Dr. Glenn Brand will provide an update on the School Start Time Committee.
- Dr. Brand will provide an update on the new Science Curriculum.
- Dr. Brand will provide an update on the district’s walking school bus program.
- Assistant Superintendent Paul Ruggiero will provide a FY19 Final Revolving Fund report.
- Assistant Superintendent Brian Reagan will provide an update on professional development and curriculum improvement time activities.
- Director of Technology & Digital Learning Ken Lord will discuss the need to form a Technology Committee to update the district’s Technology Plan.
- The School Committee will select a delegate to the Massachusetts Association of School Committee’s Annual Conference.
- The School Committee will review 17 recently revised policies for a first reading.
- The School Committee will approve a $2,000 grant to WHS English Teacher Lisa Desberg from the Maurice Newkirk Library Award Book Love Foundation.
The School Committee will also hear subcommittee reports and public comments.
The meeting will be telecast live by Wilmington Community Television on WCTV — Channel 9 on Comcast and Channel 37 on Verizon. The meeting will also be streamed on WCTV’s website HERE.
