POLICE LOG for September 19: Peabody Man Arrested; Woman Falls Victim To A $11,000 Scam; Chemical Leak

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights of the Wilmington Police Log for Thursday, September 19, 2019:

  • Justin L. Magnaghi (38, Peabody) was arrested on a warrant. Police came across Magnaghi sleeping in his vehicle in the Osram Sylvania parking lot on Ballardvale Street. (1:12am)
  • Police assisted the Fire Department with a chemical leak at DSM Coating Resins on Main Street. (2:54pm)
  • A motorcycle vs. vehicle crash occurred on Chestnut Street. Police applied a tourniquet to motorcycle passenger’s injured left leg. Medflight was requested, but cancelled. State’s automobile reconstruction team was called in. Woburn Police & Tewksbury Police assisted. A&S towed both vehicles. (3:46pm)
  • A caller reported her daughter called and said she needed $11,200 immediately. Caller withdrew money and was told to bring it to Lucci’s parking lot and to text daughter once there. When daughter arrived, she had to hand over the money with no questions asked. Police pulled the daughter over. Daughter was being scammed and requested the money because she received a scam call notifying her she had warrants out of Texas. (5:46pm)
