POLICE LOG for September 17: Suspicious Behavior Checks; Chimney Repairman Going Door-To-Door

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights of the Wilmington Police Log for Tuesday, September 17, 2019:

  • A caller reported a male party by the entrance of the drop off area at the Woburn Street School. Caller felt the male party looked suspicious. Party was gone by the time police arrived. (8:29am)
  • A resident reported a male party knocked on her door offering to repair her chimney with material left over from another job in the neighborhood. Police came across male’s vehicle in Lucci’s parking lot. Vehicle was towed and owner was cited for an expired inspection sticker. Police checked in at homes on Kenwood, Englewood, and Woburn where male previously visited. (9:06am)
  • A walk-in party reported a check that she wrote in 2017 was cashed in 2019. The check’s date was changed and the signature was forged. (12:54pm)
  • A walk-in party found a wallet near the Burlington Reservoir. Police contacted owner, who retrieved wallet. (5:31pm)
  • Police came across a vehicle parked in front of The Corner Store, which was closed. Police checked situation. Driver in vehicle was “writing down lyrics that came to mind.” Checked OK. Police did a check of the building. All clear. (11:29pm)
