WOBURN, MA — Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan, in partnership with Lahey Health, Winchester Hospital, the Woburn Police Department and Woburn Fire Department, will host a free back-to-school safety day on Saturday, September 28, 2019, from 10am to 1pm, at the Reeves Elementary School (240 Lexington Street) in Woburn.
The event aims to to remind parents and kids of important safety tips as they start the school year. The Wilmington Police Department will be participating in the event.
Visitors will be able to visit information booths hosted by the District Attorney’s Office and community partners to receive resources on bullying, cyber-safety, bike safety and more as they prepare for back-to-school.
Visitors will also be able to explore emergency vehicles from public and private partners across the state including S.W.A.T. Trucks, Military Humvees, Motorcycles, Fire Trucks and much more. There will be K-9 demonstrations by trained specialty dogs and their law enforcement handlers. Car seat inspections and installations will be available. Blades, the Boston Bruins mascot, will pose for photos. Free refreshments will be provided.
Stop by the Winchester Hospital information booth for roadway and bicycle safety information along with hands-on helmet fitting provided by Lahey Hospital’s Trauma Center. Free helmets will distributed to the first 200 participants.
