POLICE LOG for September 5: Train Conductor Helps Locate Missing Puppy; Rented Trucks Not Returned To UHaul

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights of the Wilmington Police Log for Thursday, September 5, 2019:

  • A caller reported he lost his wallet on Main Street somewhere between Simards and the train station yesterday. Wallet was a black tri-fold with license and EBT card inside. (7:56am)
  • A tractor trailer was blocking traffic in front of the high school. Police responded. Driver was unsure how to enter school’s driveway. Police assisted him. (9:30am)
  • A walk-in party reported 2 pickup trucks were not returned to UHaul after the termination of a rental agreement. (11:56am)
  • A Houghton Road caller reported a possible sick and injured groundhog in her side yard. Animal Control Officer responded and brought the groundhog to Chelmsford for testing. (12:32pm)
  • MBTA train conductor spotted a dog on the tracks on Nickerson Avenue. Animal Control Officer notified. The dog, a 14-week chocolate lab puppy, was missing from Sherburn Place and was eventually found. (4:13pm)
  • A 2-vehicle crash occurred at Lowell Street and Exit 38 ramp. No injuries. One vehicle towed. One driver cited for failure to use care while starting/stopping. (4:51pm)
