WCTV News & Notes: Registration Now Open For Popular Weekend Youth Program

WILMINGTON, MA — The below announcement was submitted by Shaun Neville, Executive Director of Wilmington Community Television (WCTV):

This Sunday is WCTV Family Fun Day at Yentile Farm.

Come down from 10A-1P for music, popcorn, face-painting, balloons and more! The event is free and open for all Wilmington families. It’s our way of saying thanks to the community for their support. It’s also a place where you can meet WCTV staff and learn more about our membership and youth programs.

We have a few demonstrations planned from IronClad Martial Arts, the WHS Cheerleading squad and Precision Dance.

The Wildcat Sports season is upon us. While we’re dedicated to covering all varsity sports teams at WHS at least once, we can’t be everywhere. Interested in helping with either a camera or play-by-play? We could use your help. This is a good way to support the teams. The kids not only like the coverage now, but will be able to look back on their time at WHS years from now.

You can be a part of a sports crew or get games on your own. Contact Marty McCue at marty@wctv.org or learn about volunteer opportunities. No prior experience is needed and there’s no time commitment.  Sign up for one game or ten!

Sign-ups are now being accepted for our weekend youth program.  You can find full details at wctv.org/wctv-weekend.  The program runs for eight Saturdays, September 21 to November 9, with each session going from 10:30-12:30.

Kids will learn production techniques and have fun developing all sorts of videos that we share out on our Youth YouTube page.

Space is limited; cost of program is $50 per student (ages 9-14). Payment is due by the first session.  To register or to ask any questions, please email Youth Director Marty McCue (marty@wctv.org).  Or give us a call at 978-657-4066.

Details on our after-school programs at the Middle and Intermediate Schools will be out soon.
