WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Elderly Services Department is holding its 2nd Annual Grandparents Day Celebration this Sunday, September 8, 2019, from 1pm to 3pm, at the Yentile Farm Recreational Facility.
A Zumba Class for grandparents and grandkids will take place around 1:15pm, followed by a break, then a Tai Chi class at 2pm.
“We’re expecting a fun, exciting day. It’s going to be a great event,” said Wilmington Elderly Services Director Terri Marciello. “We’re anticipating a good turnout — the wonderful instructors, Kelli and Greta, each have their own big followings, plus we expect people already at the park to come over and join in the fun.”
In between classes, grandparents and grandkids are encouraged to take advantage of the park’s playground and walking trail. Refreshments will be served and prizes will be given away. There will also be face painting for young and old alike.
“We’ll be tag-teaming with WCTV (Wilmington Community Television), which has their Family Fun Day in the park from 10am to 1pm,” added Marciello. “Both will be great community events with a lot of fun.”
