WILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights of the Wilmington Police Log for Monday, August 19, 2019:
- A caller reported he struck a dog on Lake Street yesterday around 8:30pm. Dog’s owner advised caller the dog was not injured. Caller wanted the incident logged. (9:10am)
- Police met with Tewksbury Animal Control Officer over possible stolen pit bull from Cobalt Street. Wilmington Animal Control Officer will respond later. (9:45am)
- Police notified Public Buildings Department of a large hornet nest at the Town Dog Park in the pine tree to the left of the entrance. (10:11am)
- A caller reported a large hawk is inside the Pacific Packaging building on Industrial Way. It’s been inside possibly all weekend. Tewksbury Animal Control Officer responded and advised caller to contact a falconer. (10:55am)
- A report of a stolen recycle/trash bins from Boutwell Street was forwarded to the DPW. (12:15pm)
- Fire and Police responded after a worker hit a gas line on Boutwell Street. National Grid responded. (5:12pm)
- A caller reported two black females were fistfighting in the parking lot of Planet Fitness. Police responded. Both involved parties did not wish to pursue charges or receive medical attention. (7:12pm)
- Police later returned to Planet Fitness after a 911 hangup call. Two males inside the gym got into a near confrontation. Parties were also connected to prior call. One male party received a no trespassed notice from the gym. (8:28pm)
