#1) Wilmington Police Beach Day At Town Beach
The Wilmington Police Association and Wilmington Recreation Department are holding their annual Police Beach Day on Thursday, August 1, 2019, from 11am to 2pm, at Town Beach. This free community event includes fun competitions, sand castle contests, and a DJ. A BBQ lunch will be served by Wilmington’s “men in blue.” There will be NO swimming due to a high bacteria count in this week’s water testing at the lake.
#2) Author Talk: Meredith Goldstein Visits Library
The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) is hosting Meredith Goldstien at 7pm. Meredith Goldstein is an advice columnist and features reporter for The Boston Globe. Her column, Love Letters, is a daily dispatch of wisdom for the lovelorn. Meredith’s books include her memoir, Can’t Help Myself: Lessons and Confessions from a Modern Advice Columnist, Chemistry Lessons, and The Singles. Book signing and sales to follow talk. #3) All You Can Read Buffet At Library
The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) is holding its annual All You Can Read Buffet from 1pm to 5pm. It’s time for one of the library’s most favorite traditions–a reading and eating marathon! Bring something comfortable to lounge upon and read your materials or ours in air-conditioned comfort. We will provide the snacks and beverages throughout the day, and a pizza party at the conclusion. Grades 4-8. Register HERE.
#4) Tour Of Wilmington Town Museum
The Town Museum (430 Salem Street) is open from 10am to 2pm. Come explore Wilmington’s history. Free admission.
#5) Town Beach CLOSED
The Town Beach is CLOSED today due to high bacteria levels.
