LOUISVILLE, KY — Janice Kay (Humbarger) DeLap, 74, of Louisville, Ky. and formerly of Wilmington, MA, passed away on July 23, 2019 at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA. Jan was born on February 17, 1945 in Fort Wayne, IN. She graduated from Elmwood High School in Wood County, OH and attended UMass Lowell. Jan worked as a documentation specialist for several companies in the eastern Massachusetts area. She was an active parishioner of Ballardvale United Church in Andover and was very involved with the Inflammatory Breast Cancer online support group. She was also an avid Barry Manilow fan, active in their local fan club. Jan had an out-going personality and an infectious sense of humor that her family and friends will miss dearly.
She is survived by her spouse Diane Marie DeLap of Louisville, KY, son; James Paul DeLap and wife Heather of Methuen, grandchildren, Sam and Kat DeLap, sister; Jody Richard and her husband Kelly Puckett of VA, brother; Thomas Richard of OH, as well as three nephews. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Kathleen Richard and Cecil Humbarger, and siblings Jeffrey and Lesa Richard.
Family and friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third Street, North Andover, MA 01810. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. in the Ballardvale United Church, 23 Clark Road, Andover, MA 01810.
