WILMINGTON, MA — Below is a recent announcement from the Wilmington Police Department regarding a notable arrest:
[On Thursday, July 11, 2019], Officer Alpers was dispatched to the rear of the Burger King parking lot located at 280 Lowell Street for a report of a suspicious motor vehicle.
During the course of his investigation, Officer Alpers identified the lone occupant of the vehicle as Santiago Alvarez, age 34, of Plantation, Florida.
It was soon discovered that Alvarez had an arrest warrant out of Broward County, Florida for firearms charges.
Alvarez was taken into custody without incident as a fugitive from justice.
He is currently facing extradition back to Florida.
