POLICE LOG for July 11: Florida Man Arrested; Hit & Run At Gas Station; Highway Crash

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights of the Wilmington Police Log for Thursday, July 11, 2019:

  • A caller reported a black car parked in the Burger King parking lot since at least 6am this morning. Caller stated vehicle is backed in and does not have a front plate. Police arrested Santiago A. Alvarez (34, Plantation, FL) for being a fugitive from justice on a count warrant. The warrant was from Fort Lauderdale, Broward County. (1:58pm)
  • Police received a report of a vehicle off the roadway and into an embankment prior to Exit 31 on 93 South. Vehicle had left scene by the time police arrived. State Police to handle. (2:47pm)
  • A tree fell down onto wires in a driveway on Nichols Street. Female party in vehicle was nervous to exit her vehicle. Female was able to get into residence with neighbor’s assistance. Police contacted RMLD and Comcast. (2:53pm)
  • A female party purchased $500 gift card as part of a scam. (4:03pm)
  • A hit and run occurred at Z&S Gas Station on Main Street. A black pickup truck in New Hampshire continued south on Route 38. Woburn Police notified. Nashua Police also notified to check registered truck owner’s address. (5:26pm)
  • Police notified DPW of large pot holes in the Butters Row and Factory Road area. (10:40pm)
