POLICE LOG for July 4: Driver Flees After Highway Crash; Syringe Found

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights of the Wilmington Police Log for Thursday, July 4, 2019:

  • Police received a call reporting multiple dogs off leash at Town Beach. Caller stated the involved parties stated they were “homeless and just hanging out.”  Police responded. Police observed 1 leashed dog and no other issues. (9:44am)
  • A 6-year-old boy and 9-year-old girl were briefly missing from Leonard Lane. The children were located by their mother. (3:02pm)
  • Lifeguard stated there is a group of people hanging out at baby beach. Police responded. Couple with baby were 8-10 feet offshore. (3:30pm)
  • Police located and removed a syringe on Ballardvale Street. (4:41pm)
  • Police noticed a vehicle driving behind Gym Street USA. Driver was looking for a quiet place to study. Checked OK. Sent on his way. (6:05pm)
  • State Police asked for Wilmington Police’s assistance after a 1-car crash on 93 North, near Exit 41. 2 parties exited the vehicle and ran up the ramp to Route 125. State Police took the parties into custody. (11:47pm)
