POLICE LOG for July 3: Drug Arrest; 11pm Fireworks On Lowell St.; Raccoon Gets Head Stuck In Soup Can

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights of the Wilmington Police Log for Wednesday, July 3, 2019:

  • A Salem Street caller stated a suspicious party was near his lawn looking at the jet ski he has for sale. Party left on a bicycle. Police were unable to locate party (1:21am)
  • Animal Control Officer removed soup can stuck on the head of a raccoon on Dadant Drive. Raccoon was OK and sent on its way. (7:12am)
  • A caller reported possible drug activity in a black 2019 Chevy Impala in the Target parking lot. Police responded. Jeffrey Doherty (31, Woburn) was arrested for being a fugitive of justice, trafficking in cocaine (18 grams or more, less than 36 grams) and trafficking in more than 10 grams of fentanyl. Rachel M. Adams (33, Cambridge) was arrested for possession of a Class A Drug and possession of a Class B Drug. Animal Control Officer retrieved dog that was in the vehicle and dropped off to a family member in Woburn. (10:36am)
  • A caller reported she was involved in a scam and stated the scammer has her social security number. Police investigated and confirmed a flim flam scam of $1,000. (11:05am)
  • Police Department responded to complaints of fireworks on Lowell Street. All clear. (10:33pm)
  • Police Department received another report of fireworks being lit on Lowell Street. Residents denied lighting off fireworks, but said fireworks had been lit off at Yentile Farm Park. (11:12pm)
  • Police Department found remnants of fireworks on Lowell Street and remained in area to check for anyone lighting them off. (11:22pm)
