LOWELL, MA — Below is a statement from Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan:
This week in Middlesex County, we have responded to six fatal overdoses in the communities of Waltham, Marlborough, Cambridge and three in Lowell. This number is uncharacteristically high.
We are urging the community and loved ones of individuals struggling with substance use to increase contact with individuals who are known to be using heroin or other controlled substances; this includes making extra phones and visits and having access to naloxne. As a reminder, many pharmacies have a standing order to provide Narcan.
Call 911 immediately if you witness an overdose.
