HOT OFF THE PRESS: Read Wilmington Library’s Summer Youth Events Brochure

WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Memorial Library recently released its summer events brochure for kids and teens.

Highlights include:

  • “A Universe of Stories” Children Summer Reading Program, including events, prizes, reading necklaces, drop-in crafts, stamps, and guessing contests
  • “A Universe of Stories” Teen Summer Reading Program with raffle prizes and a “Book-In-A-Jar” contest
  • Magician Scott Jameson will kick off the Summer Reading Program on Saturday, June 15, 11am
  • Summer Reading Bash Finale on the Swain Green on Tuesday, August 15, 5:30pm to 7pm, featuring food trucks, live music from the Squeezebox Stompers, games, entertainment and more
  • Family programs, including: Challenger: Soaring with Christie McAuliffe; Big Trucks; Family Exploration Station; Fun on the Fourth Family Day Tent; Sciencetellers: Aliens Escape from Earth; Sheryl Faye Presents: Sally Ride; Wingmasters: North American Birds of Prey; and Yo-Yos, Music & Dance; and more.
  • Storytimes — including BabyTimes, Time for Twos, Preschool Storytime, Storytimes in the Sun, and PJ Storytime
  • Events for Babies-Kindergarten: Art Adventures, Little Movers, Drive-In Movie, and Buzz Lightyear Party
  • Events for Students in Grade 1 to Grade 5, including Read To Thor; Improv Training; Art Adventures; American Girl Doll Party; Minecraft Monday; LEGO Building; Travel Club; Pals & Popsicles; Star Wars Party; Tie Dye; Angry Birds; and Pokemon Club
  • Events for Students in Grade 4 to Grade 8, including Fortnite Frenzy; Improv Training; Star Mag; Crafternoons; Tie Dye; Stop Motion Animation; Mars: Revealing The Red Planet; and All You Can Read Buffett
  • Events for Students in Grades 6 to 12, including Teen Volunteer Orientation; Improv Training; Teen Game Nights; Movie Matinees; Fractal Painting; Explore Cosmology; Tie Dye; Moon Launch’s 50th Anniversary; College Essay Bootcamp; Book To Film Club; Art After Dark; Middle Ground Book Club; and Cookin’ The Books: Back To School Brunch.

The library is also looking for teen artists to display their artwork in the library’s moveable gallery and for kids to display their collections in the library’s display case.
