POLICE LOG for May 23: Police Arrest 4 Individuals; Shoplifting At Market Basket Leads To Drug Arrests

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights of the Wilmington Police Log for Thursday, May 23, 2019:

  • A Burnap Street resident reported her basement was flooding due to a water break outside her residence. Police notified Water Department. (3:37am)
  • A Magazine Street resident reported they had no water since 7pm last night. Police notified Water Department. (4:38am)
  • A Taplin Avenue resident reported they had no water. Police notified Water Department. (4:53am)
  • Police noted a town-owned no parking sign appears to have been run over on Jewel Drive. (10:48am)
  • A walk-in party reported a tent in the Town Forest near the path. Police located tent and found pay stub inside of it. Police attempted to contact tent’s owner. (10:49am)
  • Scott M. Baker (41, Malden) was arrested for Operating A Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License. State Police reported to Wilmington Police that Baker was swerving and struck a guard rail prior to exiting 93 North at Exit 38. Police located vehicle on Lowell Street. (10:51am)
  • A baby bird fell out of a tree on Boutwell Street. Animal Control Officer placed bird back into nest. (2:57pm)
  • Lenis Alexander DeJesus-Garcia (24, East Providence, RI) was arrested on a warrant. DeJesus-Garcia came to the station. He stated he was trying to work for UBER and they contacted him stating he had an issue with the Wilmington Police after running a background check. It was discovered that DeJesus-Garcia had a warrant out of the Woburn District and was taken into custody. (5:30pm)
  • Robert Steven Emerton (56, Waltham) was arrested for Shoplifting, Possession To Distribute A Class B Drug; and Possession of a Class B Drug. (6:10pm)
  • Christine Marie Coleman (50, Waltham) was arrested for Shoplifting and 10 charges associated with Possession of Class B, C and E drugs. A Market Basket manager called to state that she observed parties shoplifting and they are still in the parking lot. Police responded. Police noted Emerton and Coleman kept reaching for things in their vehicle and attempting to stuff things in between the seats. (6:10pm)
  • Lawrence Street residents reported their cars were keyed last night while parked in the driveway. (8:07pm)
