POLICE LOG for May 21: Off-Duty Officer Locates Stolen Vehicle; Beer Cans Found Behind School; Baby Raccoon Falls From Tree

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights of the Wilmington Police Log for Tuesday, May 21, 2019:

  • A caller requested she found a bunch of beer cans and trash behind the Wildwood Early Childhood Center, in the grassy area up next to the building. The caller stated she picked up the trash and threw it all in the dumpster. She requested extra patrols at night. (8:57am)
  • A Mill Road resident reported his mailbox was damaged by a Russell Disposal Garbage Truck. (11:29am)
  • Fire Department responded to a mulch fire on Salem Street. (2:21pm)
  • A baby raccoon fell from a tree on Reed Street. Animal Control Officer decided to leave raccoon on ground as mother remains in the tree. Will check back. (3:40pm)
  • Fire Department responded to smoldering mulch outside a business on Concord Street. (4:37pm)
  • A 2-vehicle crash took place on Main Street. Driver and passenger of a van were injured and transported to Lahey by the Fire Department. Other operator declined medical attention and opted to walk home. Both vehicles towed. (4:42pm)
  • A Horseshoe Lane resident reported a sick rabbit in her daughter’s playhouse. An officer moved the rabbit into the woods. (6:22pm)
  • Off-duty officer reported a possibly stolen vehicle parked behind Windsor Place. on West Street. Derry NH Police confirmed vehicle was stolen. Vehicle towed back to station. (9:03pm)
