POLICE LOG for May 13: Gun Shots Reported On Salem Street; Car vs. Tree; Intoxicated Woman Outside Liquor Store

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights of the Wilmington Police Log for Monday, May 13, 2019:

  • Police received multiple calls from residents reporting 4 or 5 loud bangs reported to be gun shots in the Salem Street area. Police responded and located 5 shell casings in the vicinity of 160 Salem Street. Police temporarily closed the road. Police notified State Police and Tewksbury Police. (12:48am)
  • Tewksbury Police reported a car crashed into a tree on Salem Street at the Tewksbury line. Police assisted in diverting traffic. (10:58am)
  • Fire Department and DPW responded to possible diesel spill on Patches Pond Lane, called in by MassDEP. (11:04am)
  • An Eastgate Liquors employee reported a female in a white sedan appeared impaired and was asking people to buy her alcohol. Woman’s boyfriend was on scene to drive her home and will make arrangements to pick up her vehicle later. (2:08pm)
  • A caller reported her daughter called her from the library and reported hearing what she believes to be gun shots in the area. An officer was in the area at the time and stated it was a vehicle that made the noise. Caller was updated and satisfied. (2:15pm)
  • Police notified DPW of three large contractor bags left on conservation land on Andover Street. (2:23pm)
