POLICE LOG for May 11: Bunnies In The Roadway; ATV In Roadway; Trash Barrel Stolen; Mulch Fire; Brush Fire

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights of the Wilmington Police Log for Saturday, May 11, 2019:

  • Police noted a disabled vehicle in the Burger King parking lot on Lowell Street. Man is living out of the vehicle. Burger King management has given him permission to temporarily park there. (1:59am)
  • A caller was concerned about bunnies running onto the roadway at Silverhurst Avenue and Lake Street. (10:06am)
  • A Somerset Place resident reported his trash barrel was stolen. Police notified DPW. (10:40am)
  • A Cumberland Farms employee reported a man was starting an issue with other customers, yelling at them. Police responded, but man had already left the store. Police were unable to locate the man. Involved parties did not want to police to pursue the matter further. Incident may have stemmed from a road rage incident. (10:56am)
  • A walk-in party reported she believes someone is vandalizing her 2004 vehicle. Police inspected vehicle, which was in poor condition. Police were unable to confirm if damage was vandalism and if new or old. (12:59pm)
  • An Adams Street caller reported a blue 4-wheeler ATV is being operated in the roadway.  Police viewed video of the ATV. Police checked area, but was unable to locate the ATV. Possibly coming from Fairview Avenue. (1:19pm)
  • Fire Department responded to brush fire report on Salem Street. (2:24pm)
  • Fire Department responded to mulch fire in TJ Maxx parking lot. (3:26pm)
  • Police received report of an erratic operator on Lowell Street, going 20 MPH and over the double yellow. Police spoke with operator, who checked OK. He stated he drives slow due to his age. (4:50pm)
