WILMINGTON, MA — Below are 5 things to do in Wilmington on Saturday, May 4, 2019:

#1) Annual Town Meeting

Wilmington’s Annual Town Meeting take place at 10:30am in the Joanne Benton Memorial Auditorium at Wilmington High School. The warrant can be found here HERE. The Town Moderator’s message can be read HERE. There’s nothing really driving headlines like last year (remember the proposed Sciarappa Farm redevelopment?), but read the Lowell Sun’s Town Meeting preview and try to get excited: HERE. And, for a little fun, get your Town Meeting Bingo card ready! #2) Car Show At K1 Speed

K1 Speed (40 Fordham Road) is hosting a Car Show from noon to 6pm. Activities include car show, car meet, music, food trucks, car limbo, raffles, vendors, and more! Learn more HERE.

#3) Drop-In Baby Story Time

The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) is hosting a drop-in story time for babies at 9:30am. Babies and their caregivers will enjoy this fun storytime that includes rhymes, songs, books, scarves, shakers, bubbles and more. Infants through 24 months.

#4) Book Store Next Door Open

The Friends of the Wilmington Memorial Library’s Book Store Next Door (183 Middlesex Avenue) is open from 10am to 4pm. All books are $2 or less!  Every penny of every sale benefits the Wilmington Memorial Library. Learn more HERE.

#5) Town Yard Waste Center Open

The Wilmington Yardwaste Center on Old Main Street will be open from 9am to 3pm for the drop-off of leaves and brush. Residents will need to purchase a punch-card for $15 in order to enter the yardwaste center. Punch-cards will be available for purchase through the Collector’s Office at Town Hall and will allow up to 5 vehicle trips to the yardwaste center per card. NO GRASS CLIPPINGS OR STUMPS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Commercial vehicles will not be allowed. Make sure to bring photo identification to show you are a Wilmington resident.
