VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: WOW Seeking Volunteers For 5K Run for Wilmington/Kim Forte Walk THIS Sunday

WILMINGTON, MA — Below is a recent announcement from We’re One Wilmington:

The 9th Annual 5K Run for Wilmington/Kim Forte Walk is Sunday, May 5, 2019 at 11am! We are still in need of volunteers. Below are a few ways you can help… there is something for everyone!

Volunteers still needed

You don’t have to be a runner to get involved. You can even volunteer if you plan to run or walk. High school volunteers are welcome! Some of our needs include:

  • Saturday morning and afternoon (May 4) volunteers for packet pickup to distribute race shirts and numbers to runners/walkers.
  • Sunday morning (May 5 – Race Day) volunteers to help register runners/walkers.
  • Sunday morning set-up (May 5 – Race Day) – which includes blowing up and distributing balloons along the route and common, misc. tasks to set up the common
  • Water station volunteers (May 5 – Race Day) – to fill water cups and distribute to runners as they go by
  • Race day sweepers (May 5 – Race Day) – who walk behind the last runner and walker on the course to be sure no one is left behind and signal the end of the race.
  • Clean-up crew (May 5 – Race Day) – to help clean up the common, water station and 4th of July building and break-down tents.

This is a great opportunity to get out and enjoy the beautiful spring weather with the community while doing a good deed!

If able, please sign up on our web site on our Volunteer page.
