SCHOOL COMMITTEE NEWS: Big Issues To Be Discussed At April 10 Meeting

WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington School Committee meets this Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at 7pm in the Large Instruction Room at Wilmington High School.

There are some newsworthy items on the agenda, including:

  • The School Committee will receive a presentation on changes to the Middle School’s Program of Studies for the 2019-2020 school year.
  • The School Committee will review the district’s End of Year Financial Report Audit.
  • The School Committee will receive a Coordinated Program Review progress report.
  • The School Committee will discuss a reorganization within the Special Education Department.
  • Superintendent Brand will provide an update on the Woburn Street Principal Search. The three finalists held forums for parents and community members two weeks ago.
  • The School Committee will accept donations from the Wilmington Educational Foundation (nearly $5,000 in curriculum grants).

The School Committee will then enter into Executive Session to discuss contract negotiations relative to administrative salaries.

The meeting will be telecast live by Wilmington Community Television on WCTV — Channel 9 on Comcast and Channel 37 on Verizon.  The meeting will also be streamed on WCTV’s website HERE.
