WILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights of the Wilmington Police Log for Sunday, March 17, 2019:
- Dispatch received a call from a female stating she was worried that her Uber driver was not taking her where she requested to go. After a small argument, driver dropped her off at Mobil on the Run on Lowell Street. Police responded. Caller was able to get a Lyft driver to pick her up. (12:36am)
- The lights at Middlesex Avenue and High Street were not cycling properly. Pedestrian button is stuck at times. Police notified Public Buildings. (1:37am)
- A crash occurred on 93 South, near Exit 38. Occupant in the vehicle jumped down the embankment and fled the scene through the woods. State Police K9 were unable to locate party. (1:52am)
- A walk-in party reported a past hit and run on Main Street. (4:18pm)
- A caller reported Route 38 Smoke Shop is open but there’s no attendant there. Police noted the hours of operation, according to Google, indicated the store closes at 7pm. Dispatch left a message for the owner. Reading Police made contact with business owner at his home, who was made aware. Fire Department was able to secure the shop’s door with a knox box, but were unable to set the alarm. (5:32pm)
- A walk-in party requested assistance in destroying a BB gun they found in their new home. (5:37pm)
- Gilcimar Dossantos Berbel (35, Malden) was arrested for Operating A Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License and a Warrant. Berbel was pulled over on Middlesex Avenue. (5:41pm)
- Scott M. Alsup (37, Wilmington) was arrested for OUI Liquor and Marked Lanes Violation. Alsup was pulled over on Brattle Street. Two bottles of Tito’s vodka were taken from his vehicle. (7:44pm)
- Karen A. Bridge (42, Wilmington) was arrested for OUI Liquor; OUI while License Suspended for an OUI; and Possession of Open Container of Alcohol in Motor Vehicle. Bridge was arrested near the library on Middlesex Avenue. (8:18pm)
