POLICE LOG for March 10: Jeep vs. Hydrant; Car vs. Pole; Homeowner vs. Plow Driver; Trash Barrels Stolen

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights of the Wilmington Police Log for Sunday, March 10, 2019:

  • Police noted suspicious vehicle in Elia’s parking lot. Driver was playing “Pokemon Go.” (1:01am)
  • A green 2005 Jeep Liberty struck a hydrant at Burlington Avenue and Castle Drive. No injuries. Water Department notified. Vehicle towed. (10:05am)
  • Police assisted with a vehicle lockout in the Target parking lot. (11:18am)
  • A red 2005 Ford Crown Victoria struck a pole on Glen Road. No injuries noted. Verizon notified. (12:36pm)
  • A portion of Andover Street was blocked off after a 1-vehicle crash. Vehicle towed. (2:07pm)
  • A Castle Driver resident reported a plow driver was pushing snow in front of his driveway. Caller had verbal argument with driver. Police responded. Police noted issues with cars parked on the road during snow removal. Peace was restored and cars will be move to allow for DPW to continue clearing the road. (2:06pm)
  • Police assisted with a vehicle lockout in the Michael’s Place parking lot. (8:16pm)
  • A Shawsheen Avenue caller reported a black Ford pickup truck stole their trash barrel. Caller later found the barrel in the roadway with debris scattered on roadway. Police notified DPW. Police responded and located another barrel on Lake Street on the bridge. Police located a black pickup in the Wilmington Plaza parking lot, but operator claimed he wasn’t involved. A resident had surveillance video of the incident, which showed two individuals pulling barrels from a what appears to be a 4-door Tundra with cover on bed. (9:59pm)
  • State Police reported an erratic driver possibly struck a guardrail on 93 North. Police were unable to locate. (11:41pm)
