POLICE LOG for March 7: Student’s Trump Bumper Sticker Vandalized; Tractor Trailer Cited For Snow & Ice On Roof

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights of the Wilmington Police Log for Thursday, March 7, 2019:

  • State Police and Fire Department handled a 3-vehicle crash on 93 South, prior to Exit 41. (4:17am)
  • A caller stated there is a tractor trailer with significant snow and ice falling off into the roadway on Burlington Avenue and Main Street. Police stopped the tractor trailer in front of the library and cited the driver for an unsecured load. 2 police cruisers escorted the tractor trailer to the Market Basket facility where he scrapped the remaining snow from the top of his trailer. (7:34am)
  • Police notified Public Buildings that the traffic lights at the North Intermediate School on Salem Street are no longer blinking. (8:18am)
  • A caller reported her daughter was walking home and saw a man in flannel pajamas come out of a portapotty and enter a house that is currently being built in the area of Sherwood Avenue and Cochrane Road. Caller concerned that nobody should be in the house. Police responded. Individual was a sheetrock worker working on the house. (2:20pm)
  • A car struck a pole on Main Street. Pole snapped in half. Vehicle towed. Verizon and RMLD notified. Small child in vehicle. No injuries. (3:35pm)
  • A walk-in party reported her Trump bumper sticker was ripped off the rear bumper of her car sometime between 7:15am and 3:40pm in the high school’s student paring lot. (3:42pm)
  • A 2-vehicle crash took place at South Street and Lake Street. A caller was worried the two male drivers may start fighting. Both vehicles towed. (5:43pm)
