OBITUARY: Paul MacDonald, 70

WILMINGTON, MA — Paul MacDonald, age 70, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2019, at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington.

Paul was born on February 22, 1949, in Natick, MA; he was the dear son of the late Austin and Lorraine MacDonald and a graduate of Rindge Technical High School in Cambridge.

Paul married Linda Bombard in 1970; the couple lived in Billerica for several years before making their home in Wilmington in 1977 where they raised two wonderful children.

Paul had a passion for restoring antique cars and enjoyed going to car shows. His other talents included woodworking and model making. Paul loved to travel with family and friends and he looked forward to the many camping trips they took throughout the years.

Paul will be remembered as a loving, kind guy with a playful nature and huge heart; he loved his family and friends unconditionally and will forever be in their hearts.

Paul was the beloved husband of Linda A. (Bombard) MacDonald, devoted father of Keith MacDonald and his wife Christina of Amherst, NH and Beth MacDonald of Billerica, loving “Grampy” of Kailyn MacDonald. Dear son of the late Austin and Lorraine (Barnicle) MacDonald, brother of the late Peter MacDonald. Paul is also survived by his mother-in-law Leona Bombard as well as a large extended family of brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Wednesday, March 6th for Visiting Hours from 4:00-6:00 p.m. immediately followed by a Prayer Service at 6:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Paul’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 300 5th Ave., Waltham, MA 02451.
