WILMINGTON, MA — Wilmington’s State House delegation received its committee assignments this week.
Representative Dave Robertson (D-Tewksbury) will serve on the Joint Committee on Environment, Natural Resources, and Agriculture; the Joint Committee on Labor and Workforce Development; the Joint Committee on Telecommunications, Utilities, and Energy; and the Joint Committee on Veterans and Federal Affairs.
“I am very happy with the committee assignments, particularly Veteran and Federal Affairs, which oversees how the state helps those who served in uniform,” said Robertson. “During my years as an aide I worked on many issues for veterans, now I get to improve the system to serve them better and more efficiently. The same goes for the Committee on Labor and Workforce Development, which works to assist people find work, provide them retraining, and other employment services. I look forward to working with my colleagues developing better legislation, receiving testimony, and solving real problems.”
Representative Ken Gordon (D-Bedford) will serve on the Joint Committee on Economic Development and Emerging Technologies (Vice-Chair); the Joint Committee on Municipalities and Regional Government; and the House Committee on Personnel and Administration.
“I’m excited to share the news that today I was appointed House Vice Chair of the Joint Committee on Economic Development and Emerging Technologies,” announced Gordon on social media. “One of the pressing issues that will come before us is sports betting. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with House Chair Rep. Ann-Margaret Ferrante and for the trusted place in me by House Speaker Robert DeLeo and the House members.”
Wilmington’s Senator — Bruce Tarr (R-Gloucester) — did not receive any committee assignments because he serves as Minority Leader.
