READING, MA — Joseph Warren Walker, of Reading, passed away peacefully on the morning of December 24, 2018. He was 86 years of age.
Born in 1932 in Woburn, MA, Warren was the son of the late Dorothy and Chester Walker. He graduated from Northeastern University with both a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering and a master’s degree in Chemical Engineering Management. He spent the majority of his 40+ year career with Polyvinyl/AstraZeneca in Wilmington, MA.
Beloved husband of 58 years to his wife, Jeannine. Loving father of Michele W. DeMartinis and her husband Guy, Melissa W. Mendez and her husband, John, and Jennifer C. Polidoro and her husband Stephen, all of Reading.
Cherished grandfather of Stephen Jr., Natalie, Sophie, Maxwell, Jack, and Amy. Warren is also survived by his dear cousins, George Giggey of Burlington, MA and Mary Cullen of Maine.
Warren was a member of the American Chemical Society and a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. With his wife, he taught Religious Education and sang in the St. Joseph’s choir in Wakefield, MA for many years.
A devoted family man, he loved spending time with his wife, three daughters, and their families, whether at the beach or traveling on vacations. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Warren’s funeral will be held from the Douglass, Edgerley and Bessom Funeral Home 25 Sanborn St. (corner of Woburn St.) Reading on Saturday, December 29 at 9:30AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Agnes Church 186 Woburn St. Reading at 10:30AM. Burial to follow at Charles Lawn Cemetery, Reading. Funeral home visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4:00-8:00PM.
